Adult Services strives to meet the needs of adults of all ages. We select the best of the best in books, magazines, and DVDs for members of the English and Spanish speaking community. Checkout the latest DVD releases, use our computers and surf the web using our WiFi. Check with us regularly about upcoming cultural events and outings that the library offers at no cost to you.

English Book Club & Club de Lectura en Español

The English Book Club is held on the first Monday of the month (excluding holidays) at Bandini Library and the Spanish Reading Club is held on the last Thursday of the month (excluding holidays) at Rosewood Library.  Club members get together to discuss the themes and topics of the selected book.

College Fair

The College Fair is held annually in September and features booths with representatives from local and state colleges, workshops and a guest speaker.  The College Fair also includes raffles and useful tips for any college-bound student and their parents.

Computer Classes

Computer classes are held each month at all neighborhood libraries. Sign up and learn something new every month!

Hecho a Mano/Hand Made

Join us every month to make something new at our Hecho a Mano/Hand Made program - a craft program just for adults!

Book Club Kits

Start your own book club with our new Book Club Kits - just add people! Visit any of our locations or call 323-722-6660 to request your first kit!


Our Book-A-Librarian service allows you to spend up to 30 minutes with a Commerce librarian who can offer assistance tailored to your needs. Research a topic, learn to download e-books and e-magazines, research a topic beyond Google, and more. 

National Library Week

A week of celebrations during April at All Commerce Libraries to celebrate libraries.

Hispanic Heritage Month

A celebration held from September 15 to October 15

Library Card Sign-Up Month

The Library encourages everyone to obtain a library card during the month of September

Food for Fines

During the month of November patrons are allowed to pay their overdue fines by donating canned foods for families in need.

Embajadores de la Biblioteca

The Emajadores are a group of volunteers who help promote the library and assist at library functions.  Anyone interested is welcome to join the group, which meets once a month at the Central Library.

Library Visits to the Senior Center

For the convenience of senior citizens, every week library materials are selected for senior citizens and taken to the Senior Center.

Library Homebound Service

Residents of the City of Commerce who are unable visit the library due to physical/medical conditions
are eligible for this home delivery service. If you are interested or know someone who would be, please
fill out and return the form below to the City of Commerce Public Library or give us a call.  Please submit the following application.
