The Children's Services section provides a variety of children's materials, storytimes, and existing library events throughout the year to promote a lifelong love of reading and learning. books and materials are available in English and Spanish to encourage family reading.

September is Library Card Sign Up Month!

September 2019

Help us celebrate Library Card Sign Up Month 2019 in September and you can be entered to win an $50 AMC THEATERS gift card!

Here’s how:

  • Sign up for a first-time library card (must have picture ID and current proof of residence)


  • Existing cardholders can also enter if they bring someone in to get their first card.

New patrons will receive a special edition “Toy Story 4” library card just for signing up during the month of September.

Go to any Commerce neighborhood library to participate.

Raffles will be held on Tuesday, October 1st at 1:00pm at all four libraries. Winners do not need to be present.

Reading Away Fines  

Starting Monday, April 8, 2019 thru December 31, 2019, children and teens up to age 17 can read away overdue or lost item fees on their library accounts at a rate of $2.00 for every 15 minutes of reading.

No More Overdue Fees for Children’s Materials!

No More Overdue Fees for Children’s Materials!

Starting Monday, April 8, 2019, no late fines will be charged for overdue City of Commerce Public Library children’s materials up to 30 days after the due date.  The Commerce Library wants to promote childhood reading, easy access to children’s books and encourage children and families to use the library.

Items not returned 30 days after the due date will be considered lost and patron’s account will be charged the cost of the item including a processing fee.

Easy as 1-2-3D Printing!

What ideas do you want to bring to life?

Find objects to print and submit them to the library for printing using Taz, the Library’s new 3D printer.

The Library’s 3D printer is available to the public to make three-dimensional objects in plastic using a design that is uploaded from a digital computer file. To view our 3D printer policy, procedures for submitting a design and FAQ's, click PDF below.
